Date: Sat, 15/12/2017
Time: 09:00
Location: University of Nicosia, Da Vinci Room

Please note that the event will be held in Greek.  There will be private English translation for those requesting in advance.

Dear Members, Friends of Accept – LGBTI Cyprus,

We remind you that this Saturday, December 15, 2018, we will have The Annual General Assembly of the organisation on 09.00 at the University of Nicosia, Da Vinci Room, where the elections for the appointment of the new board of management of the organisation will take place.

Following changes in the legislation concerning NGOs, as well as the latest constitutional changes of the organisation based on those, we inform you that it is no longer possible to use proxies or electronic voting and members will need to attend the General Assembly to case their votes. You can download the guidelines for the elections here, were you can also read the running candidates’ application responses.

Relevant guidelines for the conduct of the electoral procedure have been sent with the first mailing on 17.11.2018. The election of the members of the Board of Directors shall be by secret ballot by physical presence. Each voter can vote for an equal number of people as many as the available positions. In this year’s procedure every voter can vote from 1 to 6 candidates upon receiving his ballot paper on the election day and placing it on the ballot box.

The ballot box for voting will be open from 09.00 till 12.00 and members will be able to vote throughout the day. All candidates taking part in the electoral procedure, must receive at least 20% of the valid votes cast, otherwise their participation in the process is deemed void. Since the number of candidacies received is smaller to the number of vacancies, additional nominations may be made during the Electoral General Meeting.

The members of the Presidency, with the consent of the members of the General Meeting, will also constitute the Committee which will count the votes and be supervised by the Election Committee. The members of the Presidency shall keep the votes secret during, as well as after, the end of the electoral procedure.

Full members need to have a paid subscription for 2018 to be able to vote. Subscription renewals (and payments for 2018) will be able to be made during the Annual General Meeting. Renewals can also be made electronically on the webpage of Accept (http://www.acceptcy.org) after logging in with the email and password of each Member. Members who have not previously registered online, can press the "Donation" button at the top of our website and pay € 10 (for each outstanding year) and then send an email to treasurer@acceptcy.org informing that they wish the donation to registered as payment of their subscription. Members who want to know how much they owe, please communicate with the treasurer@acceptcy.org.

Kindly find below the Agenda. We remind you that the celebratory first part of the Meeting will be open to the public and press. There shall be a special arrangement for any members wishing not to be photographed during the Meeting:
